    Strange Language behaviour.

Because of the way we are using Gemini and how our company works we need to change the labels at Gemini.  In example we change Risk Level to Cost of Regress.

Our language settings at Gemini administration console is

    Default Culture Name: en-US
    Installed Languages: English|en-US
    and our web.config says

    <globalization culture="en-US" uiCulture="en-US" requestEncoding="utf-8" responseEncoding="utf-8"/>

To change the labels we changed the following file  language\en-US\Resource.xml

However at this time when we changed that file no changes appeared at the website even restarting IIS.

I removed all language folders but that and I received a

    Server Error in '/Gemini' Application.

error when accessing any Gemini web page.

I restored the other language folders and check system log where I found the following error more than once.

Could not find a part of the path 'D:\Inetpub\wwwroot\gemini.digitalforces.com\Gemini\Gemini Web Application\Language\en-GB\Resource.xml'.

SOURCE: mscorlib TARGETSITE: Void WinIOError(Int32, System.String) STACKTRACE: at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath) at System.IO.FileStream.Init(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, Int32 rights, Boolean useRights, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize, FileOptions options, SECURITY_ATTRIBUTES secAttrs, String msgPath, Boolean bFromProxy) at System.IO.FileStream..ctor(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize) at System.Xml.XmlDownloadManager.GetStream(Uri uri, ICredentials credentials) at System.Xml.XmlUrlResolver.GetEntity(Uri absoluteUri, String role, Type ofObjectToReturn) at System.Xml.XmlTextReaderImpl.OpenUrlDelegate(Object xmlResolver) at System.Threading.CompressedStack.runTryCode(Object userData) at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.RuntimeHelpers.ExecuteCodeWithGuaranteedCleanup(TryCode code, CleanupCode backoutCode, Object userData) at System.Threading.Compressed

I changed en-GB language file and webpages were shown whith the proper values.

    What I am doing wrong?
Changes at en-US used to work with previous versions. Why do I need to update en-GB?

    Thanks

    Hello

Which version of Gemini are you using?

Also have a look at the default language in Administration section (assumption 3.x in use).

    Re: Strange Language behaviour.

    Version is 3.0.4.

I cannot find Default Language at Administration seccion. The most similar setting I can find is "Installed Languages" at Global Settings  >  General which is configured to en-US.

Where shold I look for default language?

Sorry, should have read the entire thread.

Check your profile language setting (My Profile), seems like your own personal setting is set to en-GB.

    Re: Strange Language behaviour.

Akready checked that, but I have only one language available named "English" as at Gemini Administration General settings Installed Languages: is se to English|en-US

    Weird case isn't it?

    Re: Strange Language behaviour.

    Indeed. Is this an upgrade?

So, even with en-US as the only language and your profile one as well, you still need to use the en-GB file? Can you check the gemini_usersettings table?

    Re: Strange Language behaviour.

Sorry the delay in the answer but the question arrived after I left for the weekend and yesterday it was a nightmare.....

1- Yes the installation is an upgrade from 3.0.3 where this was not happening

2- I checked the table and all entries for language there areset to en-US

sure, which address should I send the email to?

do you want me to put any reference at subject of body?

By the way, the zip is about 60MB so please let me know if you want me to split it in parts or not.

Is it possible to send a link to it as 600MB will be too much for email...
